Faces of ADHD | John (JB) German | TEDxValenciaHighSchool

Better Brain, Better Game!

Ever felt like school wasn’t built for your brain? To be 1 in 3 kids with ADHD, means there’s a lot of us that need a better education. John German discusses ADHD and the challenges it presents in a society that places such a heavy emphasis on performance in the classroom.

John is a senior at Valencia high school. His first play was The Diary of Anne Frank, where he played Mr. Dussel, a sullen dentist. The second, Twelfth Night, featured him as a priest and a captain. He has directed two scenes in DTASC (a drama contest), both of which reached the finals. He is currently working on his third scene. As a spotlight, he worked behind the scenes at last year’s Spring Musical The th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He is a professional thespian with a passion for all things theatrical. As a hobby, he enjoys drawing and painting when he’s stressed. He is not the first or last person to take to the stage, but he hopes to share his thoughts with you through a Ted Talk that will change your perception of something close to you. He is thankful for all the support he has received from his girlfriend, family, and friends. He hopes that you will be excited about the TEDx event.

This talk was delivered at a TEDx event that used the TED conference format, but was organized independently by a local community. Find out more at x
