ADHD is often left undiagnosed in women and girls for a multitude of reasons, both social and scientific. Many people still believe ADHD is a problem that affects only boys. Julia Hearne shares her story and discusses how reducing stigma surrounding ADHD can increase the number of girls diagnosed and treated. Julia Hearne, a New Jersey high school senior, is an example of what it means to be a high school senior. She is passionate about eliminating stigma surrounding mental health. She hopes to spread her message in the hope that it will encourage conversations about neurodiversity.
